Aethelgard, the world of three layers

A world spread across three levels that were once stitched together. Aethelgard is the name the gods use; Elyndor, the one mortals use.

Aethelgard is the cosmological name of the world: gods, ruins and the Archive use it. Elyndor is the mortal continent, and that is what the people living on it call it.

A place having two names depending on who is speaking is not decoration. It is the first hint that there are two versions of almost everything, and that the one you were told depends on where you were born.

Three levels, not one

Elyndor is not a flat map. The world is spread across three layers — surface, underdeep and sky — and each has its own realms, people and rules. You will travel all three.

What matters is that they were once connected. There was a way to move up and down between them, and the world depended on it more than anyone remembered.

Not any more. Each layer has spent generations developing on its own, and all three have begun to decay in ways their inhabitants cannot explain.

The Awakening

Something is cracking. They call it the Awakening, no two accounts agree on what it means, and it is where your run begins.

What lies behind it is something you find out by playing. We are not going to spoil it here.
